Makita, Britain’s number 1 professional power tool manufacturer has introduced a 4.0Ah, 18 volt Lithium-ion battery with three new power tools recently added to the Makita cordless range. This provides the opportunity for existing tool owners to choose these new 4.0Ah Li-ion batteries when supplementing their existing 18v 3.0Ah batteries.
The first new tools to be released equipped with 4.0Ah batteries as standard are the DHP480 brushless 13mm combi drill, the DDF480 brushless drill driver, the DHP458 LXT combi, the DHP456 13mm combi in the black and white anniversary colours and a very useful 2-tool kit which features the DHP480 combi and the DTD129 impact driver plus smart charger and two 4.0Ah batteries all packed in a neat, hard shell case. The new 2-speed DHP480 with the Makita brushless motor that gives twice the runtime, will punch a 13mm hole in masonry with up to 22,500 blows per minute available, has 16 torque settings, can generate up to 54 Nm of fastening torque and all this in a power tool that weighs just 1.6kg.
Makita has led the ‘battery innovation league’ since first introducing Lithium-ion batteries in power tools seven years ago. The integral cooling system and the battery protection circuitry in the tools ensure the maximum performance over the longest working life for Makita Li-ion batteries.
As the UK’s leading industrial power tool brand Makita has more than three quarters of a million fast chargers in the field and the new 4.0Ah batteries are fully compatible with these chargers. The Makita smart charger is a key element in the Lithium-ion battery concept “reading” the individual cells when installed for recharging and determining exactly the charge level and rate for each cell within the battery. This ensures the complete recharge of the battery in the fastest possible time and will recharge the new 4.0Ah battery in an unbeatable 36 minutes.
The new Makita 4.0Ah batteries provide up to 33% extra run time over the 3.0Ah batteries and are the same size and weight so that all 18v tools have the same ergonomic balance and operational comfort.
The new 4.0Ah 18v Lithium-ion batteries will power all Makita machines with either a yellow battery connector plate or a black or yellow connector plate with a ‘Star’ symbol clearly shown on the battery connection terminal. For detailed information please visit www.makitauk.com.

We do not like having to add this surcharge, however this is the extra we have to pay to deliver to those areas.
